Temporary Basal

In the Omnipod® 5 System, setting a Temp (or Temporary) Basal rate is only available in Manual Mode.

Setting a Temp Basal can be used to handle a temporary change in basal insulin needs such as activity or illness. If you use the Temp Basal feature often (for example for a weekly workout class), you may want to create a Temp Basal preset.

Watch the video for step-by-step instructions to learn how you can set a Temp Basal while using Omnipod 5 in Manual Mode.

Training is essential and must be completed before using the Omnipod 5 System. As part of this process, you will need to meet with your healthcare provider and visit omnipod.com/setup to complete setup and schedule your required training.
