The Omnipod 5 System is now integrated with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor!  With this new sensor integration, users will benefit from tubeless automated insulin delivery along with the convenience of a 15-day CGM sensor, and the ability to start, deactivate, and view sensor glucose data directly from the Omnipod 5 Controller.

How to Prescribe Omnipod 5 with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor

  • For new to Omnipod 5 patients, send both Intro Kit and refill Pods to your patients’ preferred pharmacy or ASPN Pharmacies' New Jersey location.
  • For your existing Omnipod 5 patients, send a prescription for FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus compatible refill Pods to your patients’ preferred pharmacy.  Should they need support, please have them contact the Omnipod Customer Care team at 1-800-591-3455.

Note: The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor requires a separate prescription and is necessary to use Omnipod 5 in Automated Mode.

The FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor is prescribed separately, and available through all major retail pharmacies, but cannot be processed by ASPN.

For your patients currently using a FreeStyle Libre Sensor who are interested in Omnipod 5, it is important that they start on a FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensor. Omnipod 5 is NOT compatible with FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3, or FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus Sensors.
