iPhone In-App Tutorial

This video shows the key differences between the Omnipod 5 App on iPhone and the Omnipod 5 App on an Insulet-provided controller or Android smartphone.

The following features are highlighted:

  • The Home Screen
  • Status Icon and Sheets
  • Custom Foods (a feature unique to the iPhone app)

If you’ve used Omnipod 5 before and are switching to the iPhone as your new device, you’ll need to go through First Time Set Up again. Insulin delivery from your previous Pods will be lost and adaptivity will start over. You can enter the basal settings from your previous device as you go through First Time Setup again. Keep in mind that starting your first Pod on your new device, the System will estimate your total daily insulin (TDI) by looking at your active basal program for Manual Mode and set a starting baseline called the Adaptive Basal Rate from that estimated TDI. Be sure to discuss your current TDI with your healthcare provider. It may be helpful for them to compare your current TDI with your settings to determine if they should be updated or adjusted.

Training is essential and must be completed before using the Omnipod® 5 System. As part of this process, you will need to meet with your healthcare provider and visit omnipod.com/setup to complete setup and schedule your required training.
