The Omnipod 5 System is the first wearable, on-body, tubeless, hybrid closed loop system integrated with Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7 and FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensors, approved in Europe for use in people with type 1 diabetes, aged 2 and above. 

The Omnipod 5 System works with the Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7 and FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensors to continuously adapt and automatically deliver insulin according to the user's personal needs.

The Omnipod 5 System is the only tubeless automated insulin delivery system integrated with Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7 and FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensors to continuously adapt and automatically deliver insulin according to the user's personal needs. Manual bolusing is required for meals and correction boluses.

The Omnipod DASH® system is not integrated to any Glucose Sensor Systems and is not capable of automated insulin delivery, but rather delivers insulin based on the user's programmed basal rates. Manual bolusing is required for meals and correction boluses.

No. The Omnipod 5 System and Controller is only compatible with Omnipod 5 Pods.

If you are planning to use Omnipod 5 with Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7 or FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus, please check the compatibility of the Pods. Pod compatibility can be found in either in the top right hand corner of the Pod box, or on the back of the Pod tray lid.

In Europe, the Omnipod 5 system has been approved for use for ages 2 years and over, for people with type 1 diabetes. Omnipod 5 is integrated with Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7 and FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus in the UK.

The Omnipod 5 Automated Insulin Delivery System is approved for use with the following U-100 insulins:
NovoLog®/NovoRapid®, Humalog®/Liprolog®, Trurapi®/Insulin aspart Sanofi®, Kirsty®, and Admelog®/Insulin lispro Sanofi®.

The Omnipod 5 System is indicated for the management of type 1 diabetes mellitius in persons 2 years of age and older.

The upgrade will require a hardware change. The Omnipod 5 System uses the specific Omnipod 5 Controller with a pre-loaded app and specific Pods to enable automated insulin delivery. To upgrade, you will need to get the new Omnipod 5 Pods and the Controller, which come with your first prescription. Omnipod 5 requires a new prescription. Existing Omnipod System or Omnipod DASH Pods are not compatible with the new Omnipod 5 System. Training on the Omnipod 5 will be required when moving from Omnipod DASH or Omnipod System (Eros).

Omnipod 5 is a hybrid closed-loop system, which automatically adjusts basal insulin with the user manually delivering bolus insulin to cover meals.

The Omnipod 5 Pod will provide automated insulin delivery for up to 72 hours dependent on the users total daily insulin usage.

Yes, the Omnipod 5 Pod is the same size as previous Omnipod System and Omnipod DASH Pods

The Omnipod 5 is supplied with a protective gel skin, charging cable and adapter.

Yes, Omnipod 5 with Dexcom G7 integration requires a new Pod. The new Pod is compatible with Dexcom G6 and Dexcom G7. The Dexcom G7 Sensor is prescribed separately.

- Omnipod 5 Pods compatible with both Dexcom G6 and G7 Sensors.
- Omnipod 5 Pods compatible with Dexcom G6 and FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus Sensors.
