Type 2 Diabetes

Let’s face it, while diabetes technologies are often offered to patients with type 1 diabetes, the same options are not always given to patients with type 2 diabetes. But the paradigm is slowly shifting. 

The American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) new guideline changes signify stronger recommendations for insulin pump therapies than in the past and recognize their benefits in patients with insulin-requiring type 2 diabetes (T2D).

As clinicians who care for and counsel people with diabetes, we’ve become familiar with the concepts of delivering person-centered care and using shared decision-making.
