Omnipod 5 App for iPhone: Resources to Help Your Patients

Current Compatibility

Please note that at this time the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone is currently compatible with Dexcom G6, iOS 17, and iOS 18.

The Omnipod 5 App also continues to be available for Android phones. For a full list of compatible phones, visit omnipod.com/compatibility.

Steps For Patients to Get Started

Patients will receive communication through email guiding them through this process as well.

  1. An Omnipod 5 and G6 Prescription for New Patients
    • New patients will require an Omnipod 5 Intro Kit, Refill Pods, and Dexcom G6 prescription to their preferred pharmacy. You can review prescribing information here.
    • New Omnipod 5 patients will need to complete onboarding, schedule training, and register their Controller.
    • Existing Omnipod 5 patients on Dexcom G6 will not require a new prescription.
  2. Omnipod 5 App Download
  3. Entering Omnipod 5 Settings into the iPhone App
    • Patients will need to enter their Omnipod 5 Settings in their iPhone App. Please consult the next section for detailed instructions to help guide them through this should they need help.
    • Patients will be asked to verify settings with their healthcare provider before use.
    • They will need to change their Pod when transitioning to the iPhone App and algorithm adaptivity will restart.

The In-App Experience Patients Can Expect

The below video provides a tutorial of new features and how to use the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone. All patients will be required to watch this on their iPhones upon logging in. This tutorial covers how to navigate the Omnipod 5 App for iPhone as well as key new features and differences between the Omnipod 5 Controller and Omnipod 5 App for iPhone.
