Who is right for
Omnipod®?
Give your patients the
freedom of choice.
Your goal of controlling diabetes may be the same, but you know that the treatment needs for each patient are different.
For many patients, and for many different reasons, the simplicity of Omnipod® is a game changer.
Patients struggling with multiple daily injections (MDI)
For some patients, MDI are fine, and work well enough at controlling diabetes. For others, MDI are an ongoing hassle and barrier to their quality of life. When was the last time you asked your MDI patients if “good enough” wasn’t good enough?
Simple from the start
Some patients need a simple solution for their diabetes management, right from the start. For your patients who would have difficulty reliably managing MDI, and who also might struggle with the complexity of a tubed pump — Pod Therapy might be the perfect fit.
Frustrated pumpers
Many patients start with a different insulin pump, but find that for a variety of reasons, it doesn't suit their lifestyle. Pod Therapy is an alternative to traditional tubed pumps that can give these patients more freedom and simplify diabetes management.
DO YOU HAVE PATIENTS USING MDI WHO:
-
Skip insulin doses?
-
Want freedom from interruptions?
-
Are overwhelmed by diabetes management?
-
Struggle with glycemic control?
For some patients, fitting insulin injections into their busy schedules can be difficult. Some may be self-conscious or ashamed of injecting in public. Some may have anxiety, or a fear of needles and injections. And for these reasons they may find themselves skipping meals or correction doses.
Kaleb*
Podder® since 2022
Kaleb is a former MDI user who found that MDI were not a good fit for his busy schedule.
- Skipped correction doses due to busy schedule
- Felt self-conscious when giving injections in public settings
- Felt MDI limited his active lifestyle
- Had to carry more supplies wherever he went
- Self-injection required administering in a private place, which interrupted his daily activities
For patients like Kaleb, switching to Omnipod DASH® can be a life changer that improves their quality of life.
For patients sick of carrying so many supplies for MDI, or who are very active or busy, or maybe forgetful when they get focused on a particular project, Omnipod can simplify life with up to 3 days (up to 72 hours) of continuous, tubeless insulin delivery.

Patients with poor control of HbA1c, not meeting recommended targets, may benefit from Omnipod that has proven to provide improved A1c outcomes for real-world patients, including pediatric patients.
Tara, mom to Pip*
Podder since 2017
“My little girl was only three years old, with numerous other complications & disabilities including ones that made communicating difficult. Pip may never be able to understand her body and know when her sugars are dropping or rising. But me as her mom, and manager of her diabetes, I can navigate it all so much easier because of Omnipod”
Omnipod DASH improved A1c following 90 days of use in a real-world study completed in 4738 people living with type 1 diabetes:†
- Significant decrease in A1c of 0.9% was observed within the adult and pediatric groups
- Both pediatric and adult users with higher A1c at baseline had greater reductions in A1c
- Both MDI and tubed pump adult users saw improved outcomes in glycemia following transition to Omnipod DASH®
†Retrospective, observational, real-world study of T1D patients initiating the Omnipod DASH System. Database information was taken from medical records or self-reported if medical records were unavailable. The primary outcome was change in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) from baseline (before initiation) to 3 months after initiation. Secondary outcomes included changes in total daily insulin and self-reported frequency of hypoglycemic events (<70mg/dL per week). Data was collected from July 2018 and March 2021. Aleppo G, et al. MDI may not be a good solution for patients who have high insulin sensitivity and require dosing in small increments. Such patients may be better served by a simple pump like Omnipod DASH to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.
For patients like Chloé, Omnipod DASH offers individualized delivery based on personalized settings, including Zero Basal Rate and Fractional Carbohydrate Ratios.
Chloé*
Podder since 2021
- Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 7
- Required an insulin management system with zero basal rate and precise micro-dosing due to high insulin sensitivity
- Had frequent episodes of hypoglycemia during MDI use
- Wanted a tubeless pump for fewer interruptions and physical activities
- Anne (Chloé’s mom) wanted a system that would give herself peace of mind, and her daughter more independence
Anne, mom to Chloé: “Switching to Omnipod was a game-changer. It decreased episodes of hypoglycemia Chloé was having. With smaller doses everything was precise. With the tubeless feature, Chloé didn’t have to worry about disconnecting. Very kid-friendly.”

Patients currently using a tubed pump with a more complex user interface and perhaps unnecessary features given their level of need may find it difficult and an obstacle to daily activities.
89% of new Podders believe insulin delivery is easier with Omnipod DASH*
“I switched over to Omnipod DASH to manage my type 1 diabetes around 1 year ago! I had been on MDI and tried a couple of different insulin pumps in my 16 years of living with type 1 diabetes. Why did I make the switch? I hit a point in my life where I wanted to be more active, and I found it very difficult to keep a tubed insulin pump attached to me for any type of workout. Once I switched over to the Omnipod DASH, a TUBELESS insulin pump, I immediately felt so free! Not only is it convenient during exercise, but it also has motivated me to be more active overall!”

DO YOU HAVE ANY CURRENT PUMPERS THAT ARE:
Some patients are sick of getting physically tangled in tubes, embarrassed by tubed pumps, or having to make clothing choices to accommodate tubed pumps. Disconnecting tubes for these patients makes a quality-of-life difference immediately.
“The first time I disconnected my previous tubed pump and used a Pod instead for my insulin delivery, I danced through my living room. I seriously could not stop dancing. I felt so free!”

For tubed pump users, jumping into a lake on a hot summer day or taking a simple bath comes with planning and preparation that disrupts the spontaneity of the moment. Interruptions that restrict their freedom and movement.
The Omnipod DASH Insulin Management System uses a tubeless, wearable, and waterproof* Pod that provides up to 3 days (up to 72 hours) of continuous insulin delivery so users can worry less when swimming or bathing. Pod Therapy is insulin pump therapy, simplified.
“With my Omnipod DASH insulin pump, I can do all the things I love during summer because it’s tubeless and waterproof*! I can practice my gymnastics or go swimming without worrying about tubes or having to disconnect my pump. My Omnipod DASH simplifies managing my diabetes and it gives me more time for fun!”
